The World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will continue supporting Ukrainian recovery initiatives, reconstruction needs assessment, and preparation for the winter period.

This was agreed upon during the meeting by Oleksiy Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, and Bob Saum, the World Bank Regional Country Director for Eastern Europe.

"I want to thank the World Bank and IFC for supporting our initiatives. Our priorities will not change, so your help and support is extremely important. The Ministry will take the lead in our joint projects," Oleksiy Kuleba said.

The Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine emphasized that the Ministry now has another significant focus—providing housing for internally displaced persons, which should also be taken into account in bilateral cooperation. Another task of the state is preparing infrastructure in communities and for people who will return from the front.

Oleksiy Kuleba emphasized that all joint projects with the World Bank, which have already been started, are planned to be continued.

"For us, the issue of preparing for winter and restoring energy remains relevant. In many ways, thanks to the support of the World Bank, the regions have an understanding of how the winter will pass. We need to continue projects of decentralization of the energy sector", Oleksiy Kuleba stressed.

Also, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine noted that the Ministry hopes for further cooperation with the World Bank in the transport sector along the main highway routes, as well as seaports.

The partners noted that the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation highly value bilateral cooperation and will continue to support the people of Ukraine.

"Our cooperation has already shown good results in the energy sector, housing reconstruction sector, and transport sector. In two weeks, the World Bank team working in the housing sector will continue negotiations with the Ministry regarding further cooperation in this area," said Bob Saum, the World Bank Regional Country Director for Eastern Europe.

Currently, the World Bank has a clear plan for further joint work. According to representatives of the World Bank, Ukraine has attractive investment opportunities.
