Ukraine and Iran have agreed to launch the test train, - Volodymyr Omelyan

Ukraine and Iran have agreed to launch a test train to transport agricultural products, primarily grains, from Ukraine to Iran. The route will run through the territory of Georgia and Azerbaijan, - Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of infrastructure of Ukraine, stated during the meeting with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Mohammad Beheshti Monfared, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Ukraine, Mr. Reza Masrour, Chairman and Managing Director of Anzali Free Zone Organization, Mr. Mohammad Reza Bagheripour, Head of Delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Guilan Province and representatives of business community of Iran attended the meeting.

The meeting was held on April 19, 2017 in Kiev. The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine stressed that the test train Ukraine-Iran can go summer this year: "This is a very promising area for cooperation for both countries. Ukraine is developing new international transport corridors in order to become a reliable transit bridge between Europe, Asia and the East. "

Volodymyr Omelyan also urged the Iranian side to consider the possibility of transportation of Iranian oil to Ukraine and the prospects of building an oil refinery on the territory of Ukraine.

The sides also discussed cooperation in maritime and road transport, particularly on the issues of strengthening cooperation in the aviation sector.
